Savoring this summer has been the goal! With each passing year I find how fast it slips away and with my older two children now busy with teenage schedules and endless activities it leaves the younger two Ieft to entertain!

Finn broke his hand this year so he had some more down time than usual and he and Leif bonded with each other on a new level being together through these summer days.

It was funny how it all played out… I was honestly nervous about their relationship for a bit because Finn was always reckless and rough with Leif. It surprised me as I thought he’d treat his baby brother with softness since he was much younger. Finn on the other hand was flourishing in his new role as big brother! He felt it was finally his turn to pester and be the boss. Leif hadn’t quite taken to this form of connection and it was often causing me strife having to constantly diffuse their quarrels.

Suddenly, something switched and Leif started loving the wild ways his brother chose to bond with him. From wrestling and watching superhero shows to snuggling and sneaking popsicles. They’ve grown to form a brotherhood that they both cherish.

It has been a process that required some mama patience but we’re on the other side now and I thought these images captured their fondness of each other now nicely.
