When you think of the words W I L D and F R E E what comes to mind?  A sense of wonder, adventure, journey… Images of nature, magic, and beauty?  A favorite song or a special memory?  A flood of peace comes to my mind.  I’m a free spirited wild one at heart.  It’s in my roots.  I can’t undo it.  It’s who I am.  The older I get the more I see that it’s a good thing.  I’m thankful for it.  I even long for more.  I think it’s rooted in all humans.  It’s like we were created to be wild and free and when were not, it’s all wrong.  Aren’t we all D R E A M E R S and  E X P L O R E R E R S ?  Isn’t it good when were W I L D + F R E E ?

For a while now I’ve been burdened with the thought of my children growing up in such a fast paced world.  It’s ever harder for each generation to slow down and be more in touch with our roots.  I am constantly having to remind myself to turn it off or put it down… and set boundaries for the kids too.  We just have everything at our fingertips, which is wonderful and a blessing, but something that we need to be careful with and responsible at.

I have a heavy heart for my children’s journey.  I want to aide them as much inspiration and knowledge I can to help them keep their W I L D + F R E E roots in this advanced world.  My hope is that they will be equipped and experienced to create a fulfilling rhythm with both in their life that works well for them and makes them successful.

I came across a resource that has me so inspired and refreshed on how to look at raising our children in this age.  I wanted to share it with you because I think it’s such an incredibly worthy message to bring up.  Our biggest job as a people is to raise more people.   Doing our best to help them achieve at this thing called life.

This community I found has a beautiful message to share on exactly that.  They share ideas on how to give your child rich experiences that offer them opportunities to grow and to learn about the world around them.  It’s actually a collection of  homeschooling mothers who are sharing what’s working in their families, and giving us a unique new perspective to look at.  I have always been open to homeschooling our children but we have not chose to do that in our lives so far.   That being said, you don’t have to be a home schooling family to be a part of this community and you can darn sure learn a thing or two from the resources they publish… seriously five star!!!!!  I have found countless ways to adapt their ideas and insights into our lifestyle.  I believe there’s major value in learning from others and that’s my favorite part of it.  I love to see how other families operate and learn from things they are doing well.

Here is the link to discover W I L D + F R E E

I included some photos of things that we’ve been adapting in our family lifestyle that has been fruitful.
