The most basic part of the room is the bed right? When I said I was getting back to basics I meant it! When I thought about what was important in the master I first focused on what the space is used for. REST! It is essential for us to function and succeed at anything so focusing on the resting place, the bed, is the best place to start. Scroll through the images at the top by clicking the arrow on the right to see more of my idea of REST;)
I like a relaxed bed with layers and comfort. Our mattress isn’t the most comfy so I purchased a pillow top mattress cover and Jared and I are in love with it! It was a ton less expensive than buying a new mattress. I also bought a down comforter as well. In my opinion, every bed needs a down comforter. People often have the misconception that they are heavy and hot, but you can purchase lightweight ones that are sooooo perfect! It’s the best time of year to find good deals on bedding basics, all the stores are advertising their sales right now!
I like to go with neutral colors on my bed. Then I add color and statement with the pillows, or layer a cozy throw at the foot of the bed for added texture. Here is a great pillow I would love to use as an accent on my bed. Here is a throw that I am in love with as well. Don’t forget to look at my Master Space board on pinterest for ideas… there are a lot of different options for pillow looks on there too!
Now that I have my resting place in order I’m excited to start looking for the details that make the room! I like accents to be things that evolve over time and things that I truly love! If you’re all ready to search for accents try out these places for major style tips and goodies ... domainhome, one kings lane, domino, lulu and georgia, anthropologie and of course etsy!
I’m thinking of what I’d like on my side tables, any ideas ? I’d love to hear!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
