In the midst of such an unusual time in our lives as we deal with staying home and social distancing I think we all find ourselves going a bit stir crazy. There’s no better time to designate a day or just listen to your needs and get lost from life a little.
We’re fortunate to own property where we can roam around our own land… When we need a reset we usually adventure outdoors. Jared heads for his fishing hole, I go for walks and let natures landscape inspire me, and the kiddos find new perspective through their play.
If you can only go as far as your front porch then stretch your legs a little out there! Listen to your needs and escape to somewhere else for a bit. Maybe it’s reading a book, a magazine, or listening to audible. Maybe it’s making a favorite drink or dessert, treating yourself to a pedicure, or revisioning something around the house. Let the kids have some freedom too! Create a club house or go camping under the stars in the backyard.
Try some fresh ideas to give your brain and body a boost. Don’t get stuck in that danger zone of seeing all the things that are unending around the house… They’ll still be there later -I promise; )
PS -These photos are from a television commercial we shot in partnership with Big Cedar’s Dogwood Canyon, a nature park we love visiting in season. Once we have our society back, be sure to book a day there! It’s the perfect place to retreat + reset.
